September/October News from Lucille

Dance is a little insanity that does us all a lot of good. - Edward Demby

Dear Friends and Family,

Well it looks like the weather is finally going to clear up and hopefully we'll have a nice colorful fall.

Take a minute to send a card of thanks to our men & women in uniform.

You can find that on the opening page.

MEET THE HARRIS', FAMILY AND FRIENDS

We had three birthday girls, Tami's Mother Dottie on David & Tami's new deck, mine and Bella's. Nice Job on the cobblestones Tami. Celebrated my birthday with family at the CandleWorks and at Sis Arlene's. Bella celebrated her first birthday this summer. Niece Debbie also made the papers volunteering for the Fresh Air Children who come in from New York City. And there's Yorky's dog Bentley, Asher with the special salads Gramma always makes for him and the deer that check out our back yard.

LINKS

Thanks to Hilda, George, Ed & Robin, Flo & George, Marilyn for the special Links. There is also the Standard Times article of Acushnet when we had the micro-burst. Eric Arruda's house seemed to get the most damage with a tree falling on it. Thanks to Eric's parents, Dick & Cindy, we were introduced to Square dancing.

OUR TRAVELS
Off we go again into a sea of green water hyacinths, Wayne called them, this time to fish for piranhas in the Yarapa River creek. They splash the paddle in the pretty sea of green to attract the piranhas and everyone gets a fishing pole except me as you know what I do......"take pictures". Wayne caught the most piranhas. His sister Daune caught one also. Then back to the boat for dinner and great music by the crew, including the song "El Condor." The sunsets were pretty. How did you like the ferry --with hammocks!!

The next day was a "Discovery" trip into Nauta Town where we had to buy fruit, find out it's name and the name of the seller. Then off for a motokar ride (a three wheel motor bike taxi) and stopped to take a group photo. We went to a Shaman Ceremony and a catamaran ride on La Encatada Lake to see the Capybaras, the largest rodent in the world. The Victoria Regia water lily grows up to six and a half feet in diameter and next month I'll show you it's beautiful flower.

See the rhinoceros beetle grub? Well they are a form of protein so they fry them and guess who ate one? Not me!! Wayne did! He said it tasted like a soggy french fry. As for the piranha, I tried those and they were crunchy, very crunchy.

Thanks Seymour and Myra for sharing with us your pictures.

NAUTICAL TWIRLERS

had a wonderful final dance with lots of friends visiting. It was so good to talk to so many of you, something I never had a chance to do while cueing.

TOWN HOWLERS

Summer get-together was at Melville's Grill in Portsmouth. Great company, good food and nice sunset.

I had some trouble downloading the website. Let me know if you find something that can be corrected.

Thanks,

Lucille & Wayne
