Jim Schell has been teaching A-1 lessons at SeaShell Steppers every Wednesday. Dancing starts at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. It is a combined class alternating tips for main stream/plus workshop and then A-1. There are two separate groups of dancers. Some are dancing the mainstream/plus workshop followed by a separate group of dancers who are doing the A-1 class. The fee is $4.00 per dancer. He's only done one Wednesday at this time. Those of us who are interested are committed main stream/plus dancers but we thought we needed some new mental stimulation just for the heck of it. Where do we dance A-1? Rest assured it won't be in the very near future.
Our treasurer is looking for DUES. If you have paid thank you. If you haven't paid please do so and thanks in advance to all of our members for their continued support.

Be there, it will be fun!

Have we told all of our 'club angels' how much we value and appreciate them?

Dancing News around Home and New England

EXPERIENCE NEW ENGLAND !

Bid Committee For 2015

64th National Square Dance Convention

Springfield, Massachusetts

Dear Fellow Dancers of the New England Area,

As you may have heard, a committee from New England has been preparing a bid to host the National Square Dance Convention in Springfield, Massachusetts in June of 2015.  This would be the 64th National Convention and could be the first one to be held in New England!  The preliminary steps have been completed with many visits to Springfield and meetings with supportive National Executive Committee advisors to prepare a formal bid.  The proposed venue for the National Convention is the beautiful MassMutual Center and the Springfield Sheraton and Marriott Hotels in downtown Springfield.  These spacious and functional dance, exhibit, and education areas will welcome dancers from around the world.  The staffs and event co-ordinators are working tirelessly with the Bid Committee to showcase not only Springfield, but the entire 6-state New England area.  A 1st-time visit to New England will be an experience our visitors will remember for a lifetime.

On Friday, June 24th, the Bid Committee will be presenting its plan to the nation at the Bid Session in Detroit, Michigan.  Until then, we will be spreading the word around New England and soliciting ideas and assistance from the New England dancers.  Having YOU within your club to generate excitement and encourage attendance at the Bid Session in Detroit is our greatest asset!  Impressing the National Executive Committee is a must!

The Bid Committee has received sponsorship of the New England Co-Operation Committee and been supported by a donation of that organization.  To help cover pre-convention expenses, we are in the process of planning a fundraising dance.  More information will follow.  We look forward to sharing our New England dancers’ energy and enthusiasm!!

Please come and visit our booth at the New England Convention in April, our exhibit in the Showcase of Ideas in Detroit, Michigan, and at other dance events in your area.

We’re asking the square dancers of the world to………

EXPERIENCE NEW ENGLAND in 2015!

Swinging Squares raiding this Friday, they are expected to bring at least 2 to 3 squares.

HEY, don't you make any doggie food around here?

Check out our featured recipe!

The Town Howlers' own Joyce Alexander suffers chocolate and peanut butter withdrawal like the rest of us and she is willing to share her great  PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE recipe taken straight from our great cookbook.

Just click on Three Squares a Day and scroll down a wee bit..

After a long collection of recipes with the help of Morris Cookbooks, our Cookbook  is for sale.

It is fairly well known that square dancers are great cooks.  Delicious foods are experienced at dances and other club activities. Two of our members (Pat Cooper and Joyce Alexander)  thought that those delicious recipes should be shared with all.

What is the background of call names? ... But is this a made-up explanation by someone who did not know the true origin?. ...
